📋 Instructions

  1. Start with a Magic Ring and make your first round into the ring (single crochet stitches for this project). Pull the tail to close the ring.
  2. Join the round by making a slip stitch (sl st) into the very first stitch of the round.

🔑 Key tips

  • A neat join prevents diagonal seams and helps you clearly see where a round begins and ends.
  • Tighten your slip stitch to create a smaller, less noticeable join.
  • If you see an extra stitch or small gap after joining, do not crochet into it. Always work under the “V” of the first stitch.
  • Using a stitch marker to mark the first stitch makes it easier to find for future joins.

🏋️ Practice

  • Create a Magic Ring.
  • Complete one round of sc or hdc.
  • Slip stitch to join, chain 1, and identify the new round’s starting point.

🎯 Goal

Join a round intentionally—without adding extra stitches—so you can move forward with confidence and consistency.
